Entertaining the possibility that we create our own reality may be difficult for many people. Much of this reluctance is based on a wish to avoid responsibility, allowing an individual to blame any available scapegoat for all misfortunes. But it is also based on fear, which disguises itself as a rather feeble attempt to be wholly logical. This is similar to the fact that some people are still refusing to accept modern physics, still trying to embrace Newtonian physics, and cannot realize that our universe is not a clockwork machine and is not based on anything remotely resembling human logic.
