All too soon, it was time to go.  We both hugged Mona Rae and thanked her profusely for everything.  She thanked us for the visit and for knowing a part of her sister lived on in Jody.  They promised to keep in touch.

     On the way to the airport, Jody and I reminisced about our experience together and talked about her future.  She said he was going to legally change her name to Meredith Monroe DiMaggio to honor her parents, and maybe see if she could hit the talk-show and speaking circuit, telling people about abortion and her personal story.  She also wanted to go to her mom and dad’s graves and let them know she was alive and okay.  She was positive it wouldn’t hurt her adoptive parents’ feelings to do all this.  They had always encourag...
