We ate a few more bites and sipped a few more sips of coffee.

     “She met Joe at Chasen’s restaurant for dinner with friends.  I think it was supposed to be a fix up.  There was definitely an attraction, she always said.  She said it was so funny, because she thought he played football, and she’d never seen a baseball game, and never heard of the Yankees.  After not talking through the whole meal, they then spent three hours afterwards just driving around and talking.  Marilyn told me Joe said he was odd with women.  One date was fine, he hated second dates, and rarely had third dates.  He hated publicity, interviews, and being photographed.  She thought he picked the wrong business to be in, but he loved the game of basebal...
