The next morning, I awoke to the intoxicating aroma of coffee, pancakes, and frying bacon.  I walked in, dressed in my jeans and light sweater, and took the coffee cup full of coffee Emmy held out to me.

     “This was his favorite breakfast,” Emmy said slowly.

     “I’m honored you fixed it for me,” I told her as I touched her shoulder.

     “We have a lot to do today?”

     “A lot.  We need to do a lot at the funeral home.  Did Elmer, I mean, Jimmy, have anything in place for his funeral?  Something written down of what he wanted done, like songs, or anything?”

     “I think so.  Somewhere....
