Tiffany died on a Sunday. Her funeral was on a Tuesday. As per her wishes, they held the service at Dan Underwood’s church. They had become good friends. Tom’s coworkers from the station were there, as well as most everyone from the church. Tom was inconsolable.

The radiation treatments did little to help her. She grew worse with each passing day. Within a month, she was home with hospice care and Tom had the hospital bed that he ordered set up in the sun room so that she could see the ducks in Old Mill Pond. She talked often about the ducks and she worried that there was no one that would feed them when she was gone. Tom promised that he would make sure that they were well taken care of and not to worry.
