“Ingenious,” Eldi’ka said, studying the simple canister device.  He turned it first one way, then the other, and held it in front of his mismatched eyes; one blue, the other dark brown, they almost mirrored his facial coloring.  Knect’cha watched the Dreamer examine her work with obvious pride, and Kile’cha, as her commander, shared some of that.  Not much, he admitted to himself, grinning.  Tuk’cha’chet had brought the garrison’s only resident Dreamer with her to Brokeleg, and Kile’cha was thoroughly grateful for that… if he could only get past the smell.  Dreamers stank of the herb they used for their dreamwalks, and he’d never been able to stand being in the same room with them for long; his nose just didn’t allow it....
