On my way home from the library conference I rang Alex and asked if he knew Sandra Sullivan, the new librarian from Trim who informed me my presentation was “too childish”. He hadn’t heard of her but since then he’s been keeping me posted on the Library HQ gossip. Imelda is an impeccable source for this too as she has worked there for so long that she knows where all the bodies are buried, or overdue books are hidden as the case would be in library circles.

She rang me today from Booky McBookface, her mobile library truck, while she was on the road between stops. She has a really good hands-free setup.

“Fine, just working on next month’s event schedule. How are you? How’s Zara?”
