I still couldn't explain why I felt the need to protect Rosie - even though she made it perfectly clear that I was just being a nuisance. It did kind of sting that she wasn't impressed by my heroism. But I guess I deserved it. I'd been a big jerk to her from the first moment I found out who she really was. I hadn't really given her any reason not to hate me.
