“How did it go?” Thalia asked when Garrett came back.

“It went alright. I had one offer,” Garrett tried to say with a smile.

He didn’t want her to worry as he was.

She nodded and Garrett noticed something was wrong.

“Are you okay?” He said and sat next to her on the bed.

She shook her head.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

A tear fell down her cheek.

“I miss them.”

“Who?”

She turned to him.

“My parents.”

“How can you miss them? They tried to break us apart!”

She stood up, her body tense.

“They’re my family, Garrett!”
