Alcohol is the root of all evil.

Simon’s mother used to tell him that a lot. Especially when his dad got to drinking. But he never really understood it until after his wife died. Until he needed a friend, a silent one who wouldn’t give him advice, who wouldn’t tell him it would get better, who wouldn’t look at him in pity.

But it was also deadly. And soon he got addicted. And then he met Colin, his best friend who changed it all.
