It was raining again which wasn’t unusual, but what was unusual was my mood.  I felt light and airy and incredibly distracted.  I had been trying to recall the last time I had ever daydreamed.  I wasn’t usually that kind of girl.  I was doodling on my notebook when he sat down next to me and I would have noticed if I was in a normal state of mind.

“Hello,” he said, his voice a strict monotone.

The plan had been to not be evasive and go for it; everyone but Zias wanted me to lure him in.  Zias felt it was too risky but everyone seemed to think I’d make excellent fish bait.

“We aren’t fishing for demonic assholes with my girlfriend, thank you!” he had yelled at Aunt Eliza.

Girlfriend?  Crap.  Can’t say I have really...
