I couldn't have slept for more than a few hours. We're still chased by the sunrise, this day seemingly never beginning as it trails us across the world.

I sit up on one of the chairs that makes up my bed. Teruya is still asleep, sun rays from the opposite windows creating a veil of light between us. I carefully stand, trying my best not to wake him, then head for the restroom near the cockpit of the plane.

Even I can't take my own stench anymore. It must have been three days since I've had the chance to shower. My options are limited, but I do my best with a couple of small towels and freezing water from the sink, washing off at least eight time zones’ worth of dirt and grime. It doesn't make much of a difference to me, but it's better than nothing.
