Chapter 7

The Sunday afternoon Salah's family gathering was still going strong as the sun began to set and for the first time since that fateful night, Hannah felt content. She had met many of Baniti’s family and had spent much time speaking to his fiance, Farida. She had attempted to help clean up but was firmly escorted from the kitchen and told to mingle. She knew Amy needed to get home to study and Hannah had to admit that all this socializing had made her tired. It was time to leave.

“Baniti, thank you for the wonderful afternoon, but we have to get going.”

“Thank you both for coming. And thank you for asking Farida to join you for a pedicure next week. She is very much looking forward to it.”
