As she chose a few things from the spectacular array of food on the trestle table, Baniti’s mother came by. “No, no, that is not enough food.” Hannah thought her accent was as enchanting as her son’s. Without asking, the amiable woman picked up the closest tongs and selected several more things for Hannah to sample.

Amy dutifully held out her plate when the woman gave her a scornful look at its meagre contents. “I like it here,” Amy laughed as she watched her food pile grow.

“Both too skinny,” muttered the matronly woman.
