Some things are only for the show;

Like his nonchalant greeting,

And accompanying smile, so fleeting.

Regardless of love, not all relations grow;

Some die gradually,

While others perish prematurely.

Taking responsibility and doing what’s right,

Requires you to put up a fight.

Where the wind of fates blow;

Like a cruel joke,

On life’s dark humor, you can choke.

Little did she know,

Why in darkness fireflies can glow;

Beauty can be defensive,
