November 10th

Sophie and I met for lunch today. I convinced Lucy and Clara they could cope without me for an hour in the shop. Despite being a terrible liar they let me away with this nonsense.

Why was it nonsense? Because the shop is actually busy these days. Two bloggers featured us in their round-up of good places to buy unique, Irish gifts (hurrah!) and our local paper did a big piece about Dara’s wooden train sets. He is now working through a massive order list for those trains and has made us put a sign in the window explaining that he can’t promise to have any more made in time for Christmas.

It doesn’t stop parents, and grandparents, coming in to ask though. The great part is that they often stay...
