Cal is home again, at last. He won’t talk about the excavation of the graves at the mother and baby home, but he’s already signed up for another fortnight at the ongoing dig in January. Everybody on his team is taking turns doing this task. I love his sense of duty but I wish he wasn’t so quiet since he got back. It worries me.

We got a message from the school today. Apparently there’s been an outbreak of head-lice. I thought we had left that nonsense behind now that I have both my kids in teenage school but when I ranted to Marion she told me that they have to send that alert often. This worries me too.
