I know Cal liked his birthday presents. He’s already reading one of the books and he got a good laugh when he opened the box I put the little frog toy in with a note explaining that I forgave him for letting me fall in a pond in the dark. The children wanted to know what we found so funny but we’re not telling. I think it’s best they don’t know about my trespassing.

The Dragon ignored my suggestions, and bought him a hideous green sweater with orange owls on it. Cal has already put it in the box for the charity shop.

Today’s gift from me, the gift of peace and quiet, should prove to be the best.
