She had fallen out of time.

The day after Winters' Halloween ball, she had gone home early to, as she explained, handle a few personal matters. It was not a lie, and no one stopped her from leaving. The weekly had grown into an efficient and sophisticated organization, capable of running itself with little input from Sayeva. She was simply accustomed to being very hands-on.
