         “Our best option is to snag that device, get to elevation at the end of this sandbar, if that even exists, and send for help. That way we can save everyone. But the longer we stay inactive, the closer the island gets to killing every last one of us,” I explained.

It was not an easy choice to make, but it was the logical one. Benjamin could appreciate the reasoning. And the last thing Jess wanted was to hurt anyone. So we agreed: it's just us three.
