It turned out Poppy wanted Jaymi to attend a demonstration in Los Angeles against discrimination of all kinds. While she was nervous and a little afraid, she marched with her head held high and her sign held higher, chanting, “One Nation. One Heart,” over and over amongst hundreds of others while they blocked traffic downtown, creating a mess and getting people’s attention like the thousands of others through the years that had come before them. She looked at the people around her and wondered about their past life stories. These young people, were they the same souls that marched during the Civil Rights Movement?
