By the time she and her mother were driving home, Rory saw that she had nine text messages. Eight from Max which concerned her and made her feel special at the same time and one from Jaymi. Max’s added up to him calling her beautiful about six times, begging her to go out with him tonight and then seemed to take on an aggravated tone until the last one said, “If u don’t want to go out just tell me.” She felt badly for not getting back to him even though she knew she shouldn't.

“Of course I want to. Sorry. I was helping my mom with something. What do you want to do?”

“Movies?”

“Great!”

“7 sound good?”

“Sounds good. See you.”...
