September 6th

One word – men.

Today started well. The kids are back in school and Cal is on night shift at the moment so we had a quiet breakfast together and booked accommodation for our cycling trip later this month.

I was considering walking to buy the paper when my phone rang. It was thinking about reading the newspaper un-interrupted that triggered it, of course. Fate doesn’t like parents to read an entire article without a child-based chaos.

“Hello, is that Mrs. McTaggart? Jamie’s mother?”
