“No way,” Eleanor whispered as she watched her father accuse Sam of treason. “There’s just no way.”

Mandy snorted. “Of course, there’s no way. I’ve heard Sam hyperventilates when he’s late to class. Only an idiot would believe he might foment a rebellion.”

Wilson Cartier sauntered around the corner. “Are you calling your own father an idiot?”

Eleanor made sure all her cameras were recording as Mandy shrank behind her. “Wilson, the protective order Mandy took out against you still stands for another week even if the criminal charges have been dropped. Back up, or I’ll call ship security.”

Wilson lifted his hands in a sign of surrender but kept pressing forward. “Hey, now. No harm meant.”
