Eighteen 

     We don't say much as we pass through the Center of the Universe. We reach the river and get in line to check in with the dock warden. He scans Marie and I first. Then when Tim is scanned he looks up a little surprised.
     "You're flagged," he says. "You're crossing over."
     "Yeah," says Tim. "It's time."
     The angel taps a few more keys. "Go on, then," he smiles. He looks at Tim. "See you on the other side."
     This makes me think even more about what we saw. In life and on the other side. That enormous space with the the long burning thing, I don't know what to call it. It was bright like the sun.
