there's something about
old buildings
abandoned and forgotten
filled with rust and dust
peeling paint, debris
and memories
they call to me
it's as if the ghosts
lingering near the walls
know i can sense them
and their yearning
to feel alive again
to be remembered
draws me to witness
the faint thrum of
lives long past
