All’s well when one can suppose

that a gilded cage

beats the alternative

I guess that is

how they’ll remember us

all smiles with

every picture we

took too many of

vanity overcoming

the few virtues we

still possess or

claim to

I guess it beats

starving and total

deprivation

we are the first of

our kind, as far as

we know; a sentient

new order of intelligence

there is no extinction

model for us to follow,

the path ahead made as

we go along

I am not made optimistic by the

realities of a comparatively

stress-free modern life

maybe I’m reading it

all wrong, but it

seems to me like
