“Never,” he lied.

“How can I be sure. You’re not the Eiji I used to know.”

“You’ve changed too,” Duck told his old friend sincerely.

“Oh, these?” Sugihara replied, pointing to his shark’s teeth. “The doc that cured my anemia knew a guy who could fix my underbite. We may have gone a little overboard. You don’t think I need braces, do you?”

The table erupted in laughter.
