Bernie, Delia, and Sissy, looked at each other and then back at Alice as they chewed their food and digested that fact.

   “Just like that,” Bernie said, “mulling over the possibilities of sudden wealth just for writing a song.

   “Uh, huh,” Delia said, clearing her throat. “Alice, have you finished filling out your application for the Rockettes yet?” She asked.

   “It's almost done,” Alice said. “I need to get Mrs. Herzog and Mrs. Ziegler to write me a letter of recommendation. I should be able to get them next week. I got plenty of time. The deadline is May the twenty-eighth.”
