Chapter 8

   The telephone on the Sheas’ wall jangled, and Sissy jumped up from the floor where she was working on a puzzle and dashed to get it. “Shea residence, Sissy speaking,” she said, with the formality of an office receptionist.

   “Well, hello, Sissy. This is Dennis.  How are you, today?”

   “Oh, very well, thank you. Do you want to speak to Alice,” she asked.

   “Yes, is she there?” Dennis asked.
