“I’m glad you came,” Dennis began. “Did you have a good time?”

   “It was wonderful,” Alice said, still enchanted by the young singer who entertained so masterfully. She looked down at her lap. “You are wonderful,” she said, a little embarrassed by her feelings.

   Dennis, with his left hand, lifted her chin, drew close, and kissed her very deeply and very hard.
