“BzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZ...” the alarm clock ground away, dancin’ across the nightstand.

   Alice stirred at the deliberate, annoying sound that signaled the beginning of another day.  Prone under the covers of her bed, she cracked one eye to confirm the bad news. It was seven a.m. She slammed the alarm button on top and attempted to snooze for a few minutes longer.

   “Alice, wake up,” a voice called through the door. “I’m gettin’ you breakfast.”
