“Well, it’s not like I had a choice,” Alice said. “You just go on.”

   They walked along in silence for moment. A sharp gust of wind blew up, and Dennis, seeing that the Alice was shivering, instinctively put his arm around her shoulder.

   Alice looked up at him. He had strong features, ruddy, full-cheeks and kind eyes. 

   The two arrived at the Employees Parking Lot.

   “That’s my car over there,” Alice said, pointing to a white Dodge station wagon parked in the back row. 

    “So what are you doing for New Years?” Dennis asked, as they walked towards her car.
