‘I’m sorry, Jayce’.

‘No need to be, Abs. I’m the one who should be sorry’.

‘How so?’

‘Well, my love. I should never have got you into this in the first place’.

‘Well, no, perhaps not, Jayce. But you did, and here we are. And we will make amends for all that’s happened’.

Janet Christine Harrison got out of the bed she loved sharing with her wife.  Comfortable though it was, thanks to Linda Welch’s ministrations, the temporary accommodation at The Bargeman was beginning to pall.
