Adam Lancaster was the youngest District Attorney in the history of the city of Grant, and he took his job quite seriously. Not once had he hesitated to prosecute anyone who broke the law, including, recently, the mayor. So when Officer Sepulveda had contacted him purporting to have ample evidence of corruption in the police department, he’d instructed him to come over right away.

“Have a seat, Mr. Sepulveda.” The DA gestured to a large, comfortable leather chair in front of his desk.

Javier took a seat, looking uncomfortable in spite of the cozy chair. He pulled the thumb drive from his pocket and set it on DA Lancaster’s desk. “On this drive you’ll find ample evidence of gross corruption in our police department.”
