Clayton broke the silence. “I wish you all a safe and uneventful trip, and I’d be grateful if one of you would give me a call and keep me informed on how things go for Arrin upon your return.”

“I’ll be sure to do so, sir,” Tom said. He looked to Arrin. “Let’s go.”

Arrin slid off the exam table. “Thank you, Clayton. I’m grateful for your aid, both before and now; and I’m sorry for my behavior today. You deserve better from me.”

Tom’s and Peter’s mouths dropped open. Arrin was not only thanking somebody, but apologizing too! Since when did he do such things?

Clayton smiled and patted Arrin on the back. “As I said, I was pleased to be of aid. And I shall be praying for you.”
