Chapter Twenty-Six

In New Hope a small crowd of fifteen people awaited Pastor Willis’ arrival at the church, anxious to hear the news about Arrin he’d heard from a surgeon named Clayton Barton. Since his escape almost all of the colonists had committed to praying for Arrin every day; until news of the robbery and the police officer’s death had reached them anyway. The dozen present tonight were the steadfast ones who’d continued praying. Among them were Tom, Seamus, Jay, Peter, Chad, Robert, and Elizabeth.

After Pastor Willis related what Clayton had told him about his week with Arrin, the meeting broke up and everyone went home to pray for Arrin except Peter and Tom, who approached Pastor Willis.
