Chapter Nineteen

The morning and half the afternoon passed with no change in Arrin’s condition. Tom was beginning to worry when Arrin at last opened his eyes, although he didn’t seem to realize where he was at first. His always expressive eyes reflected his dread and he struggled to sit up, but Seamus grasped his shoulders and restrained him.

“It’s all right, Arrin. You’re in the hospital.”

Arrin’s brain fog cleared. “Ah, it’s smiley,” he said, relaxing.

“And me.” Tom moved into Arrin’s field of vision. “How do you feel?”
