Peter ignored Arrin’s request to leave and instead came to stand beside the piano. “You always walk away in the middle of our discussions. For once I want you to listen to what I have to say!”

Arrin continued playing. “If you’d ever say something worth listening to, I wouldn’t walk away.”

Peter was about to reply, but then Pastor Willis entered the room. Arrin stopped playing and came to his feet to glare at him.

“May I come in?” the pastor asked.

“You already are in. Uninvited,” Arrin said.

“Oh. Sorry. Should I leave?” Pastor Willis turned toward the door.
