With his mood as black as his eyes Arrin returned to the dorm and spent the rest of the day into the night brooding in a corner of the recreation room, keeping his distance from everyone. Fortunately, Peter wasn’t around to ask him what was bothering him since he’d gone off sailing with Chad and Robert after Arrin had turned him down, and afterward he’d been invited to dinner at Pastor Willis’ house.

By the time everyone retired to bed it was after midnight, but although Arrin was exhausted, he stayed up, fearing the nightmares sure to plague him tonight. He wandered through the dark dorm into the game room and stopped at the pool table.
