“Hey, Kevin. Working late?” Arrin asked.

Kevin’s eyes narrowed. “What are you doing here? You know the spaceport is off limits to you, don’t you?”

Arrin told the truth. Mostly. “Peter gave me permission to go for a walk, but I didn’t realize how cold it was and left without my coat. I was freezing and the airport was close, so I came in to warm up and use the phone to call Peter to come pick me up. I was looking for the phones when I ran into you.”

Kevin studied Arrin with open suspicion. His story sounded true, but he could’ve stopped at any number of houses on the way here and asked to use their phone; not to mention he would’ve had to pass by a bank of phones on his way to this spot. Still, Arrin looked so innocen...
