Despite the warning of an imminent flare-up in Arrin’s tone Peter unwisely plunged on. “There’s only your word to prove either of those things, and there’s also the baby’s death—although that wasn’t in the records and no one but me knows about it so far—that proves you’re more than willing to kill if you deem it necessary.”

Arrin came to his feet with a vile oath and started down the steps.

Peter caught his arm. “Where do you think you’re going?”

Arrin pulled free. “To see Chloe, and don’t try to stop me.”

“You can’t see her.”

“We’ll see about that!” Arrin bounded down the remaining steps and headed in the direction of the women’s dorm.
