Pastor Willis entered the room and approached Arrin. “Good morning.”

Arrin glowered at him. The pastor wasn’t even close to as welcome as Chloe had been. “Pastor,” he acknowledged coolly.

“Can we go somewhere private? We need to talk.”

“What about?” Arrin asked, although he suspected he already knew.

Pastor Willis confirmed his suspicions. “About you and Chloe.”

“Ah. Whatever you have to say about Chloe and me you can say right here.”

“Very well. You’re an exile, a prisoner, and this fling with Chloe—”

“It’s not a fling.”

“Well, whatever it is, you can’t pursue it.”
