Piggy pulled a large white kerchief from his left coat pocket and wiped his sweaty brow. “Indeed. I was particularly intrigued by the one who was given the name Arrin on his naming day last month. He has already far surpassed all of the others in every skill, and I’d have liked to see him grow to his full potential.”

Arrin’s chest swelled with pride. He’d already suspected he was the best of his brothers, but hearing it from the lab coats confirmed it.

“Arrin is a remarkably talented clone,” owl eyes said. “He’d have made a splendid interloper. It would’ve been interesting to see how long he remained free and alive once we’d set him loose upon Sasphran society. I think he would’ve lasted at least twice as long as any of his predecess...
