“Could you perhaps release my restraints so I could use the restroom?” he asked.

Ramona looked about ready to do so, until her nurse supervisor walked by the door to Arrin’s room. “I’d like to, but I cannot. I’ll bring you a bedpan.”

Arrin faked embarrassment. “I hate using the bedpan. It’s degrading, and I think I’ve been degraded enough, don’t you think?”

“Yes, but—,”

“I’ll be quick. No one will ever know.”

Ramona bit her lip as she looked to the room’s private bathroom. “I don’t know….”

“If you’re worried I’ll try to escape, there’s no window I could escape through, and nothing I can use to hurt myself.”
