A small, sleepy town in Texas awakes to find a local high school girl has commited suicide.
Three weeks later, her friends still have trouble understanding. How could she have taken her own life? Her best friend, Kathy, comes to a startling revelation which causes a chain of events to unfold that no one could have expected.
Soon kids from all walks of life within the town become entangled in a confusion of mental illness, sexuality--and murder?

This began as a series of short stories that are all interconnected but may be read standalone, but as the story developed it became apparent that they were more like chapters in the book.
Up until chapter 6 all stories are standalone, but from then on all are connected.
