The robot leveled ‘what might otherwise be interpreted as:’ a dead stare at Roy; advantage having been turned over just that quickly.

“Just for that, Roy,” the robot said, “the paddled hand grip rubbers are coming off now too.”

Roy smiled. “You are all over the place this morning. What’s the deal? First it’s off with the gloves, now it’s the paddled hand grip rubbers.”

“Obviously, I can’t take off the paddled hand grip rubbers without first taking off the gloves, Roy,” the robot replied.

“By my account of things, we shouldn’t even been anywhere near the gloves coming off,” Roy said.

“Now who’s 'all over the place this morning, what’s the deal,' ” the robot replied.
