Roy was jarred from his momentary feeling of accomplishment. “Wait, what?”

“’Wait, what?’ what,” the robot asked.

“You put down a bead on the patio railing?”

“That’s what I just said in so many words isn’t it,” the robot asked flatly, “My language encoder isn’t vocalizing in binary again is it?”

“No, you aren’t speaking in binary,” Roy replied.

“Well, then by my estimation, Roy, there should be no confusion,” the robot said, returning to its self examination.

“Well,” Roy emphasized.

“Yes, I said ‘Well,’ as well, Roy.”
