If you’ve ever engaged in conversation with an Italian, you’ll notice we’re a very animated and passionate bunch. When we speak, we gesture with our hands and our entire body for that matter.

 

It’s physically impossible for us to communicate without using our hands. If you tied our hands in front of or behind us, we wouldn’t be able to articulate ourselves. We simply wouldn’t be able to speak a coherent sentence. We are stopped dead in our tracks mid-thought and mid-sentence. We lose our train of thought, our ability to speak, and our brains shut down momentarily.
