“What’s special about her?” Masaru asked.

“Probably nothing,” I replied with a small sigh.

“Sachi Kato,” Akira started, “Fourteen years old. Birthday is June six. She’s going to start college next month as a business major, putting her in the same grade as her older brother.” She paused a minute before saying, “her dad’s a real piece of shit,” with a small chuckle, “So you’re interested in the Kato family?” Akira removed the ARs and gave me a suspicious look.

“Why would I be interested in the Kato family?” I asked.

Akira and Masaru exchanged glances, “here,” Akira said, handing her ARs to me.
